20 Jan Tip #1: Find Your “Picture Face.”
Everybody has an angle and expression that works best for their features and personality. My go to is just above eye level with a slight downward tilt; 85 degrees (ish) does the trick for me. Play around with angles and take a bunch of pictures. Like a lot. See what works and more importantly what doesn’t, so you can avoid that in the future. You can also take a look at previous pictures of yourself that you like for guidance. Chances are you already know a little about what works for you, or at the very least you know what does NOT work for you. In the beginning, I literally moved the camera around until I liked what I saw. I found my picture face. I practiced it, I perfected it, and then I fucking nailed it. Having a great “picture face” can also help you in those more impromptu photos as well as in group pics.
